Ruud West
My Story
Ruud West is a minister of the Church of the Earth, a spiritual counselor, trauma healer and ritual leader. His passion is supporting people to uncover their true identity and purpose as the answer to their inner calling. As a guide for the voyager in the inner landscape he is walking next to the people to face and heal primal wounds caused by passed experiences, and facilitating the pathway to fulfillment by uncovering the potential of the true self.
Ruud worked with traditional North American Indian (Lakota) medicine people and has participated in and supported their ceremonies. He has facilitated sweat lodge ceremonies during 30+ years in 3 continents, and also guides vision quests. He is a dance leader for the Dance to Heal the Earth. He has been deeply immersed in several cultures and spiritual traditions, receiving teaching from Sufi sheiks, Buddhist and Hindu leaders, and working with healers in these traditions. He gained intercultural experience as he worked in Malaysia with Muslims, Chinese and Hindu clients.
As a child, Ruud experienced a deep connection and oneness with nature—the God presence. He experienced intelligent energy as the organizing reality behind the material world. These qualities did guide him in a life of teaching and healing arts, also during a period as a corporate consultant. Starting as a biologist, his interest in the connection between brain and consciousness resulted in his conducting brain research. He also did research on the philosophy surrounding evolution, comparing the materialistic and the spiritual worldview where the aspect of creation has a place.
As a high school biology teacher he worked in child-centered education.
After living for 10 years in a spiritual community he has experience in community leadership and development as a guardian and steward of sacred space.
His mission is to bring people of different cultures and religious and spiritual traditions together, bridging separation. He shares the vision that all these cultures and religions are beautiful flowers coming from one root and turning toward the One Sun.
